I'm Maria WaInut a Portuguese freelance graphic designer, illustrator and animator. I've worked in New York at Sagmeister Inc. and lived in Berlin for 5 years before moving to Amsterdam in 2016.
As a designer, I love to create corporate identities, design books and all types of printed media, create tactile expressions of a brand.
As an illustrator and animator, I love to give life to ideas in a friendly way. I create characters, illustrate for magazines and illustrate books.
I mostly look for simple, playful expressions of complex ideas and try to make work that feels human, spontaneous and friendly as well as strong and effective in the way it communicates.
I work with small and bigger clients: from advertising agencies, organic beauty brands, to family-run businesses, non profit organisations, or museums. The very ecletic list of clients include: HEMA, Fine, Johan Kramer, Amsterdam Economic Bord, Happy Kamping, Mono.Kultur, de Domijnen, Kranenburgh Museum, Merlijn Twalfhoven, O'Wonder, Mr. & Mrs. Lane, Strategyzer.
My work has been featured on publications such as Los Logos 8 (2017) and I'm a member of the ADCN. I've been in the jury for Illustration and Typography for the ADCN Awards.
